I deal with machine learning in Python for which certain data analysis skills are a prerequisite.
Scikit-learn is the means of choice here.
My personel usecase is to use a model trained by financial data for a trading bot. 
I experiment with different models and their parameters as well as with different financial assets and timeframes.
